The Awatere Valley is cooler than other regions in Marlborough. Because it enjoys the influence of cool Pacific Ocean breezes at night, the growing season is longer, developing fruit with unique varietal character, an intensity of flavour and bright acidity. The berries are often small, meaning their flavours are vivid and intense.
